WebP uses a more efficient compression than JPG and PNG, so it usually takes less space for the same look. That helps websites load faster.

Does it work in every browser?

Chrome, Edge, Firefox and current Safari can display WebP. Converting to WebP in this tool is not supported by some Safari versions, and you will see an error on the row.

Does WebP keep transparency?

Yes. Transparent areas in a PNG stay transparent in WebP.
