Create a Wi-Fi QR code

Enter the network name and password and a phone that scans the code joins the network. Your password never leaves this computer.

How to use it

  1. On the Wi-Fi tab enter the network name (SSID) and the password.
  2. Pick the security type. For most routers WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 is right.
  3. If your network name is hidden, tick Hidden network.
  4. Download PNG or SVG, print it and put it where guests will see it.

Frequently asked questions

Is my password sent anywhere?

No. The code is generated in your browser and the network name and password are never uploaded. The password does sit in the QR code as plain text though, so anyone you give the printed code to can see it.

Which phones can read it?

Current iPhones (iOS 11 and later) and most current Android phones offer to join the network when you scan the code with the camera.

I do not know the security type, what should I pick?

Most routers use WPA2, and the WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 option covers them. For an open network without a password choose No password.
